Indian Union Road and Highways minister Nitin Gadkari Launched India's first CNG tractor. Earlier it was a diesel-powered tractor, later it was converted to CNG-powered tractor. CNG (compressed natural gas) is environment friendly so this invention is very helpful for environment too. This Invention also helpful for the farmer.
Nitin Gadkari said,
Farmers will able to save more than 1lakh rs. annually on fuel cost, which will help them to improve their livelihood.
More About the Tractor
The CNG tractor is owned by Nitin Gadkari only.
The Minister informed that it is his diesel tractor, which he had bought in 2012, and on that tractor Nitin Gadkari try to convert it into CNG based tractor, and now it has been successfully converted in to CNG variant. It has been jointly converted into CNG by two Maharashtra based company Rawmatt Techno solution and Tomasetto Achille India.
The CNG tractor has been launched after six months of trial-run.
Advantages of CNG Fuel
- It is cheaper as CNG prices are far more consistent than fluctuating petrol prices.
- The average mileage of CNG vehicle is better than that of petrol/diesel driven vehicles.
- It is safer as CNG tanks come with a tight-seal, which reduce the possibility of explosion while refueling or in the event of spill.
- CNG is clean Fuel as it has the lowest content of carbon and other pollutant.
Currently, around 12 million vehicles are already powered by natural gas throughout the world and more companies and municipalities adopting this cleaner fuel, The minister said
Promoting of Clean Fuel In India
Indian Union Road and Highways ministry has proposed the adoption of E20 fuel-blend of 20% of ethanol with gasoline--as an automobile fuel, in its attempt to reduce harmful emission from vehicle.

Ethanol Blended petrol (EBP) programme: To extract the Fuel From surplus quantities of food grains.
Pradhan Mantri JI-VAN yojana, 2019: To create an ecosystem for setting up commercial project and to boost research and development in the 2G Ethanol sector.
